Well, the weather man finally got one right. It snowed last night. About an inch of accumulation. But the air was so dry that by the time I got up this am most of it had dissapeared.

Right now (9:20 am) it is 14 degrees with a wind chill of 1 degree. I remember when I was a kid it would be warm enough on Christmas day to wear short sleve shirts and play outside. We never got a snow before Feburary and even then it was the rain snow mix that never sticked.

I guess the world is changing everyday. Hmmmmm.........

Oh........suppossed to be 60 degrees Wednesday and Thursday of this week.....

Thats funny SC because I'm in Granite Falls just about 10 minutes north of ya and it sprinkled snow all night, none of it stayed around on the ground but it was pretty to watch.

No snow or rain. When I got up it was 21 degrees at 6:00 AM and by 7:00 AM it was 19 degrees. Now it is up to a blistering 27 degrees.

The mowers didn't want to start easy this mornig for some reason.

YardPro... we are closed from Wed. until next Tuesday. Therefore we have to cram to get everything done. Believe it or not we still have centipede growing here. Go figure.... I am looking forward to Wed. though...

Merry Christmas

I don't know what the low was last night but at 2 PM today it is still 25 deg. We had about 1 and a half inches in Jacksonville. I just took this pic and there is still snow on the ground, all that the geese haven't trampled.

Last nite I drove thru the western mountains of NC. From Murphy to Brysoncity, 50 miles it took 1 hr 45 min, hiway coverd in snow and ice, cars slideing off the road. From Brysoncity to Cherokee,, maybe 10 miles, the ground wasnt even white. Slyvia to Waynesville, slick as ice. Patchty toward Asheville and nothing after crossing Oldfort Mountain the rest of the way to Salisbury. My buddy drove up from Columbia SC called me at 7:30pm to say it was sleeting rain and he could only drive 55mph up I77. I laughed and said I was lucky to even do 30. we both got to Salibury without an accident.

Set a record in the Triad last night- 5 degrees. Coldest on record since 1945. Winds 10-20 mph all day, so you can guess the windchill was brutal.

At any rate, I agree it was way too cold for my lilly white petard.

Lowest Temp recorded in Fayetteville since 1950.(for this date) Wind chill was -4 degrees at 6 AM. Water was froze. Mowers did'nt want to start. Still managed to get 7 yards done after an 11:00 AM start. Suppose to be 17 degrees tonight. Man, I cant't wait till tommorow!

11 AM you sissy! Started out in Eastover in the sun then finished in Eastover in the shade and in the wind. BUUUURRRR. Funny thing about yesterday was putting down straw in the wind. Now that was fun :dizzy: Get done ring the door bell to let them know I was finished. He said looks great Chris call me later. Its to damn cold out here for me. Door closes. I just bill this client. So its all good.

Reason for the 11.00 AM start was because I spent the 5 hours before (6 AM till 11 AM) trying to get water. What were you doing at 6 AM ?

Here we go again............

Weather statement issued this afternoon says 1 to 3 inches of snow for the area I live in (Harnett County).

Looks like I might have to start offering winter services after all if this keeps up.........
