I'd buy the whole lot, keep the ones you want, and re-sell the rest back on e-bay.

I put a call into the seller and have not heard back. My thoughts too were to keep a few and sell the rest. I am sure some are parts machines. My guess is that they were purchased from a City or County. Still, $15K for 38 only comes out to $394.74 each. We could go together and then keep a couple each..... LOL.

How to get them.... I just bought a 40' trailer from a guy in OK and will be going out there in three weeks. I think I could get them all on the trailer.

come on guys....with 25,000 members on LS, one of us should know the company that did that..... you have to have many many employees to get 38 WB;s....

Just got an email from the seller. All of the 38 WB's are running and have between 600 and 800 hours on them. They all have just been fully serviced with sharpened blades and oil changes. They didn't say who used them....

I bet his Reserve is around $30,000. I wonder why he just don't sell them individually for around a grand. Maybe they are going out of business.

You could make lots of money just buying them, and reselling them one by one.

That is apparently what is going to happen. The guy that has the only bid on these has a store on Ebay called CDS lawn and garden equipment.

I was thinking the same thing. I live in Illinois, but I think it is a 4 hour trip to their place. I might call him to see if I can talk him into giving me the reserve price. I'm not going to drive out there to find out he wants $40 grand.

Damn, $390 something each for em. Id buy 3 for $1500. If someone from here buys them, can I buy 3? Hell, I'd even take my own trailer and meet you there and help you bring some back.

Coastal... Lets go get em with your trailer!!!!!

Did you notice that he has a reserve price and it has not been met. That $15,000 bid doesn't mean squat.

My guess is that it is an equipment dealer trying to clear out their used inventory. More than likely has no expectation of selling them as an entire lot on ebay, phone number is listed, probaby figures people will call and offer to purchase individual units direct without ebay getting their cut. Not too many companies around that are going to be able to take on that many units, and if they are big enough, probably aren't interested in buying someone elses problems. JMO

I was figuring they were used by a cemetary or Parks and Recreation service, especially if they all have similar hours. Someone will buy them all for around 25K..if it's Brian from CoastalGC, swing thru WV on your way back to the beach and drop 6 of them off here.. :D

I work about 5 minutes from these guys. They have been helpful on smaller items when I go to them, but haven't seen this kind of volume. I guess it all goes with the saying "it takes money to make money" I bet a lot of people would love to buy all these and re-sell them, I know I would if they were in good shape. Not sure if they aren't selling one by one because they don't usally deal with these brands. They are Toro/Ferris for the most part as I've seen, although I could be wrong. Could have something to do with their contracts with the other dealers.

If someone on here buys them I am intereseted in a 48 and a 61. Let me know.

Is there anywhere to get them seperate? I would love to buy a 61" Scag 48" scag and maybe those gear drive bobcats. I love those mowers.

Those look sweet. I would think maybe a dealer would be interested in them for resale. Get people in to buy those at a low price and then sell some other stuff to them get them to come back again. I don't think you could fit them all on a 40' trailer in one load. I just don't think its possible. But that sure would be a big help. Now if you had 2 guys go down each with a 40' trailer that would be sweet. Talk about a few tie downs.

If you lined them up next to each other it would be over 170' wide. Get 38 guys, think how fast you could cut a foot ball field.

A 72" ixie Chopper will cut a foot ball field in 9 minutes but with all those WB's it probibly wouldn't take over 2 or 3 minutes. Just whatever it takes to get from one side to the other.

If you were cutting the Detroit Lions stadium, you dont have to cut the opponent's end zone.....the lions would never enter it. :cool2: :cool2:

To all that are interested, I went to the shop to see these mowers in person. They are not all that they are cracked up to be. These were Brickman trade ins and they were in pretty sorry shape. This shop had 165 trade in mowers in the spring and these are the leftovers. Most have over 1500 hours. The were not very well kept. Only four or five of them are ready to mow, most of the rest of them are parts mowers. All i can say is buyer beware.

Thanks Ken for the information. I'm sure some that were looking at this auction to by and resale are glad we didn't make a bid. I'd hate to pay that much for 38 mowers to sit at the shop with all the other junk stuff that stopped working years ago.
