I understand the geographic bias, but what about polling for years in the business as well? If ten people answer the same as to income, but their operations range from brand new to 10 years old, it's not the same thing at all.

Wrong approach for a business plan. It's not how much others are making...it's how much do you want to make. Do you want to be McDonalds or Joe's burger shack? It's all in where YOU want to be.

My guess is that he's trying to get a feel for how much he can reasonably make, based on what others are doing. Your comment is taken as a good point, but he needs background information in order to ascertain what constitutes an attainable goal.

Interesting that on average, supervisors make more than owners. Sounds like they need to parse the data by company size.

Yeah... I think that there are only supervisors for the very large companies. But imagine what some owners are making if the average is only $53k with those large company owners bring it up quite a bit.

i heard once that an average solo income is about $35K
