Has anyone built a fert/pest business?

Currently I do just about anything to do with lawns except fert/pest apps. I want to streamline my business and would like to hear from those that have gone the route of building a fert/pest business only. Do you regret giving up the other side of the business? How long did it take to get to a level of success? What would you do differently if you could go back and do it all over again? Have you found the competition to be extremely tough in the fert/pest side(cut throat)? Was it worth it? Any and all input would be greatly appreciated.

Do a search for "dropping mowing"...There's a pretty big thread started by JamesCormier about this very topic...Seems like a lot of people have dropped the mowing with very little regrets...Good luck..
