besides the obvious 2ft of space, are there any pros/cons to hauling one or the other. After year 1, I have outgrown the 12ft trailer because now I need to haul the 60" Dixie, a 50" Dixie Run Behind I'm buying, a 36 Ferris, and a 21inc push

I'd get a 18 or 20'. A 16' may be fine for now but you may want more in the future. To me there is a big difference between a 16 and a 20. Also, you may want to get heavier axles. I like 5200's and 6000's, but you'll need a dovetail to keep the gate angle low. The heavier the better. It will last longer, plus you can haul heavier equipment, like rental stuff(Trenchers, tractors, etc.) Just my .02 :dizzy:

i have a 16' and and to fit 3 mowers on it i have to turn one sideways it sucks . i would get the 20' and then i would put another gate on it up front so you dont have to pull every mower off to get to the front one .

I was gonna add that each mower takes about 6 feet of space so if you are gonna haul 3 i would go with the 18

I've got a 12 foot trailer now, and I often can't find a spot to park with that. I want to upgrade to a longer trailer, but I fear I won't be able to park it in the places I have to go.

Go 20 ft. with side gate, I load two lazers off back gate and 48'' walkbehind from the side (what a time saver). It is so convinient just to unload whichever mower I need.

I have a BigTex 20 ft.For a few hundred more than the 18 it's well worth it. If you got the truck to haul it and the space at home for it I'd get that. Like everyone else will say more room for more stuff :p You can always add on to the trailer, being more racks and stuff.

Side gates are ussually curbside in place of the door... I wish I had that on my trailer.. although a door is nice for quick access rather than having to unlatch and lower a ramp.. I guess you can get a door on the road side as well.

I have a 8.5x18. I was originally going with the 7 x 16 but then came acrooss a few month old 18 footer for the same price as a new 7x16.. So glad I got the 8.5x18..

3 mowers (52" +) in line or you can fit some smaller decks side by side.... to make it 4 mowers...

yeah, i know how it would look like....but never saw one that had a ramp on the side.

Where would you get one? just curious....i thought the only thing offered on the side was a door. that's it.

here is a picture of a trailer with one. I would imagine most of the bigger enclosed trailer companies are offering it as an option..

thanks, Ztoro...

that looks really nice. it has two drop gates, one door and what looks like a "window"...those extra options would bring the price up so much, but they would be so convenient.

Some of the V- nose trailers, one side of the V lets down for a big ramp on the front corner

yes, these seam easier to unload a mower since you can basically go straight out the front....

I ran into the same thing. I have a 12' now, but next spring I will be buying at least an 18'. I don't want to have to buy another trailer for a while.

It's a loadmaster car hauler with beaver tail, I had them add 2' square tube all around the deck then a side gate and rear, Side gate is 62' wide so if need :: I can drive 60' lazer off. Side gate is curb side to help with angle of gate.I only had two 3500lb axels put under it to help minimize weight. I have had know trouble yet but I would put heaver axels under it if I had to do it again.
sorry I have no pictures. :blob2:
