Who has a leaf spring lift gate? Can you post pictures and dimensions? I would like to have one installed on a side gate on my next trailer.
What side of spring do you have and how does it work?
Please don't bring up...."I built a lift gate with a garage door spring for $20 and it works great." These things are dangerious and there are hundreds of posts about these already.

Anyone....I would like to build one for my trailer and Tesh & Son's will only install on one of their new trailers. I really don't want to pay $2000+ for a lift gate on a trailer I already have.
Lowes has most of the things to build a gate assist. It cost me about 45.00 to build 2 for my trailer.

Exactly, a set of springs, some pulleys, garage door wire and some pvc would probably work just fine.

My springs are on the rear gate of my trailer but the same principle would work anywhere. They are torsion springs & I got them at a truck parts place.

Please stay on the subject. Anyone have information about leaf springs used as a lift assist on side gates?

I bought my spring at J&J boat and trailer supply on dixie in valley station.
The spring is 1000 lb rating and is 26 inches long, I don't know if this spring will work but I'm trying to fabricate the mounting hardware now.
The spring was about $15.00 .
I have the pics that you want on my computer, but I don't know how to post them here.
It looks like a pretty simple setup and safe
