I got a price from a dealer for used bunton mower 48 inch
w/b with a kawasaki engine for $1,100. Can you tell me if
this is a good deal or are the bunton mowers any good. The mower is a gear drive.

I would assume that this is a gear drive. I have a couple of bunton walkbehinds (14 hp briggs, 14 hp kohler 48" & 52") I would say that they are worth $650 to $1,000. One is 5 years old and the other is 4 years old. It all depends on how old, how used, and general condition of components.

i have a Bunton 36 gear drive and its 5 years old. I paid 2800 back then and its still running very strong. It has a 14 Kawaski on it. I am very please with Buntons, great mowers.

I don't know if it was just the older models or not but I remember them being very quiet machines, I loved that sound of hearing the grass getting cut and spit out!!

There is a guy here in town that swears by Buntons. He has four of them ranging in age from 7 to 1 years. He has good luck with them and has been trying to sell me on buying one. For me they are the wrong color of green (although the older ones had yellow wheels LOL!) I think they are good mowers and I have heard nothing but good things about Kawasaki engines.
