Well I've pretty much narrowed my choices down for my new mower for '05:

---Gravely 34Z/44Z (Havent decided on the size, 34Z would save alot of time with gates)

---Lazer Z CT 18/44

Both will have good dealer support, and I have demoed both, just not real sure, I thought I would ask the pros.I know that the lazer is a lighter end of commercial, but they will both end up running me about 5,000 after everything. So which one???

Thanks!

I have no experience with the Lazer Z, but I do have the Gravely 34Z and it has been a great machine, good for getting through small gates.
No Complaints....

yes gates is a small problem, but it kind of evens out if you cut the front with the 44 fast and push the back it might be the same as doing it all of it with the 34

Check out the new Standers when your Stander dealer gets them. With the maneuverability of a Stander, the fast cutting, and the new enlarged tires on the 36"(If that's the size you're looking for), you can't go wrong. You might not like them, but they are in our opinion, easier to maneuver. Give them a try.

Splatz, what part of Louisiana are you in. Just wondering if you are close by. Check out the eXmark HP series, more for the money compared to the CT. PM me with your number if you want some more info on eXmark, I have used them for 9 years, and a friend owns a dealership. I have a 44 HP w/ 20 kohler.

Splatz, PM me or send me an email, abobe@cox.net, with your number and I can explain the difference and why its worth the money. Its easier to talk to you than type.

The Gravely 34Z with 15 hp Kaw is listed at $4499

The 44Z with 17 hp Kaw is listed at $4999

Why did you say that either one would cost you $5000 ? - or did I missunderstand you ?

The new 2005 Gravely Z's now have foot operated manual deck lifts, or you can still have hydraulic lift on the deck. These are full featured, wide frame machines.

The 144Z with 17 hp KAW + MAN. LIFT = $5499

The 144Z with 19 hp Kaw + man lift = $5699

The 148Z with 21 HP Kaw. + Man. lift = $5999

all mowers here already have the price increase

so the 34z is 4699 and 44z like 4999

also the CT is from last year so no price increase there. and now they come with Vanguards so maybe my dealer will be doing some type of closeout.

Be nice if you could swing another grand and go for the 44inch lazer hp

Aside from cutting faster and holding twice the fuel you get such important items like arm rests. The ct is marketed to homeowners and is not in the same league with the rest of the lazer family.

That 34Z sounds a little high....doesn't it? I spoke with a manufacture rep at the GIE and he was saying something about $4100. Am I missing something here?

The dealer that sells the Gravely has a new service effective Jan. 1st. A drive through service. No more checking in and bringing your mower around and all that, just pull to the back and bam! it will be done like that. So I think that is a plus.
