For me that wouldn't be true unless those folks owned the company that makes the private jets I would buy and the BlackJack tables in Vegas that those jets would be flying me too weekly.. :p

Not totally the little rich brats that do nothing but live off the empires that their grandparents built 100 years ago would not get it back but business owners would. Now here’s a question for why the hell would you want to do that they tried it in Russia and it does not work to well. We also tried it here when the pilgrims first got here they tried socialism. After one year they nearly all starved to death there was no motivation to work harder when everyone would get the same. That should be taught in school but they wont every do that the liberal teachers union can not let it get out that socialism does not work or they would be out of power in side a generation.

Hell ya.

I remember way back when (early 80's I think) that Mondfort Meat Co. out of Denver, CO. wanted to buy the fast lane of Rte 80 from Denver to NYC (true story btw). Just think how much faster bobby could have got his silver bullets if Coors hadn't jumped on that band wagon LOL

no, it shouldn't. it should show u knuckleheads that making money is a mindset. sweat will only get you so far. i read today where one of these guys said a client was paying $250 a year, for 4 yrs strait, to have his leaves cleaned. then on the forth year argued the price. the bonehead said he was going to return $50 of this money to the client!!! ARE YOU PEOPLE NUTS? . first off, he didn't raise his fee in FOUR YEARS!!!! secondly, when he was 100% in the right, he was going to hand deliver a $50 refund to this client. get a grip for christ's sake!

Nope, it was because all of their trucks were getting these huge fines for speeding. If you ever saw their rigs, they are the classiest and most expensive ones out there (long nose Peterbuilts with 425 and 500hp Cat engines). The reason I know of this is because a very good friend of mine who owns a large trucking operation (around 125 tractor trailers) knows someone very high up at Monfort.

I thought it was crazy too at first when my buddy told me.

I think that the folks that worked hard to get their money would get it back. The people with the entrepreneurial mindset would work themselves back to the positions they held. The ones that simply lucked into it or gained the money from family and never really worked for it probably wouldn't get it back. I don't think the people that never had to work for their money would have the work ethic to get their money back.

Rod, it IS crazy.

The fast lane of I-80 used to be known as <li><a href="http://www.google.com/search?num=50&hl=en&lr=&q=%22The+Monfort+Lane%22&btnG=Search">The Monfort Lane </a></li>but the rest of that story is pure fiction.

I think that in theory it makes a good point, but not everybody would get their money back. One example that I can think of is the people who worked all their lives and saved and made wise investments, but now they are 85 years old... they're not going to get their money back cause they just cannot. Also the brats who had everything handed to them, they would become the new poor... I have seen this happen to someone I know. His folks died, left him alot of money, he blew it all, and now he hardly has a place to live.

However for those of us who are physically and mentally able and who work for what we get and earned what we have, we would all be back to normal eventually... some would take a lot longer than others though.

Didn't have a whole lot to do with the fines, it was just a well know fact that the monfort drivers were paid to deliver fast, and didn't care too much about what the speed limit was. Their trucks were very well powered and geared high so they could outrun just about anything out there.

Bobby you are very correct on this one, just take a look at some of the lottery winners to see how obvious this is. A very large percentage of them are filing bankruptcy in a relatively short amount of time after receiving their winnings. Companies have sprouted up that will purchase lottery winnings, civil settlements etc for a discount, ie you win 200k per year for 30 years but you want a lump sum now. Kind of interesting that a person making 30k per year has trouble living on 200k per year of lottery winnings. Must be the situation or the companies that purchase the lottery annuities would not exist.

A person needs the "journey" that you travel on the way to becoming rich to learn to be rich. Someone can give you the money but no way to give you the experiences you have while earning the money on your own.
