Equipment question

We have an opportunity to purchase last year's model Exmark
TurfTracer HP 48, 15hp, Kohler Command engine, still in the crate for $3800.00.

My question is:

Could the machine's mechanical parts (example, hydro pumps)
be affected from the time it sat?

Not being familar with hydros, is the 15 hp Kohler powerful enough for that mower?

I have two 48" turf tracers. One 14 and one 15 hp Kawasaki. While you can never have enough power I am happy with both machines in conjunction with the 48" deck. I paid $4000 two years ago for the 14 and $4300 last summer for the 15. Dealer told me that the Kawi lists for $100 more than the Kohler. As for the hydro pumps, I doubt if there is any damage from sitting so long. afterall mowers sit all winter.

1majortom- there should be no problem with buying a leftover hydro, and that is a good price.

Nothing should be wrong with the pumps. If it in the crate, then its definatly ok. Plus you have a warrenty. There is no telling how long the pumps sit at the factory. Sounds like a good deal to me.

I went with the 17hp because the dealer told me that it would put alot less strain on the equipment when a sulky was attached. He was probley right, I love the thing.
