Yeah Mick must agree with you there. When the price of a Hustler in Oz, is around double the price in the States, with our dollar worth 75 cents US,
seems a lot of freight and dealer charges there.

I could get one imported by a friend of a friend and only pay freight and duty. Probably save $4-$5 grand.
But no warrenty!
I reckon the prices we pay suck!
I thought we were supposed to get cheaper American imports after the free trade agreement!
DONT LOOK LIKE IT!
To be honest, Hustler are over priced here compared to other equipment.
I could get a Scag Turf Tiger 29efi / 61" for $20k if I put money down now and wait 2 mths! Thats a saving of $4k!
JD 29efi 60" $18000 for example only!
I reckon if I could get a Super Z for $18000 to $18500, be a good deal considering!

I called at least 6 dealers and this one had two at this price new 1 hr. on it. Said needed to make room for plows and winter equipment that was to arrive. Here again prices fluctuated from $9500 on down. The next closest was $7600 w/25 Kaw engine.
last 60" super z with 25hp Kawi that we bought was $7200 after taxes, etc.
You definitely get your money's worth out of hustler equipment.

Well I finally got the dealer to come down from the MSRP he originally quoted me (I guess he was hoping I was a sucker) I told him he would be wasting both of our time if he didn't get down to $7000 (not including tax etc.). He said that if I am not in a hurry to wait and see if Hustler comes out with a rebate, but either way he would do his best to get me a $6995 price. This is for a 52/23 Z. I own one already that I got 1 1/2 years ago from a homeowner for $4500 with 28 hours on it. He had it one summer and was selling his home so he let me have it cheap. I wish I could find another deal like that :)
I wish I could get a super Z because I like the stronger pumps. But I don't want a 60" and I don't want to give up any trim on a 52 deck.

Looked at a SuperMiniZ? Bigger pumps than the MiniZ but just a tad smaller than the SuperZ? You'd still get the trim the like??

In the Super Mini Z a step up from the Z or the other way around? I thought the Z was one step down from the Super Z?
I am going to get with the dealer soon. I didn't think I was going to buy another Hustler (because of the high price they originally quoted me), but after them giving me a call and realizing I was paying cash they have dropped over $1000 in price and still dropping :)

Ok, I just looked on Hustler's site and got the answer to my question. The name Mini represent weak to me, so I figured it was a beginner mower. I never even looked at it. ow I realize the SuperMini is the mower I want.
I am assuming it is the same deck design as the Hustler Z? I hope my mulch kit, blow out baffle, and Quickchute will be interchangeable.

Super mini z 24 Honda, 52" deck- $6841 including tax. He even threw in a spare air and oil filter.
I had to drive 4 hours to get this deal, but it was worth it. The dealer closest to me turned down $7400. He said $7666 was as low as he was willing to go.

I just received a Rough quote on a superz with 60" deck and suspension seat of about $8400 which is MSLP less the current rebate. It does not look like the guy was willing to come off MSLP.. Are you guys still seeing Superz's with 60" and suspention seat for $7000> if so, where?

Ok, I'm looking at the Super Z, 60" or 72" deck, suspension seat. so far, I have one quote, it was MSLP for the unit less the Hustler rebate, so, I don't see that as a deal, anyone in the Nashville area know a dealer that is looking to sell a Superz, will pay cash.. Just lookng for a no hassle deal..
Drop me a note if your in the area

WEll, that is quite a jump from MSLP., I guess shipping these things cost a mint..
I'm still waiting to see if there is any dealers in the Nashville area that would like to make a quick sale. I guess business is good!

These Hustler dealers and their list prices are the reason I bought an Exmark. I got a price on a Mini Z $7695 and Super Mini Z they said $7995. I said forget it, I went and got an Exmark with Bagging system for less than that. Super Mini Z price, I can only go about 6 or 7 with the bagging system attached anyways. Hustlers over priced in this area anyways.

I payed 9200 for a 60in Super Z with a BAC-VAC
I just got a quote on a 60 inch Super Z with 27 L/C Kaw. It was 7699.00. I am questioning the need for the L/C Kaw. My dealer doesnt recommend the Kohler engines. I am going to be cutting about 7 acres once a week on about a 25% grade. I read the other posts on engines, but I still would like to hear more about the L/C Kaw. Your opinions are appreciated.

The liquid cooled Kawi's are just about bullet proof, they have been around for many years and in many mowers, they are definitely a proven motor.
Kohler had there issue years ago, but the engines today are top notch and we have not had any major issues, if any that I know of with them.
If your mowing a 25% grade, you may want to look at the ATZ, it is made for mowing slopes.
Hope this helps.

I gave Ray a call Saturday morning. He didn't have a Honda 52/24 in stock :( but he did have a Kawi 52/25 in stock, new in the crate and he gave me a great price ($6500). I hooked up my trailer and told him I wanted it and was on my way down. This morning I have a Super Mini Z 52/25 sitting in my garage and a very nervous lawn waiting outside. :)
Great dealership, nice guy to deal with. No haggling, he gives you a good price up front and supports it with good service upon pickup. I was a little late (after closing) and he still had to deliver a Super Z that night, but he still took the time to personally show me some hints on do's and don't's of ZTR mowing.
If you are within driving distance, I highly recommend you give him a call.
Thanks again for the heads up Tstrong.

couldn't get the dealer to drop too much since he had to search high and low just to find what I wanted...he is selling them just about as fast as he can get them... wrong time of year to be shopping I guess and I couldn't wait for him to order one from the factory... grass already 10" and growing!

Can't help but wonder if the MSRP is $9,999 and the dealer can sell it for 2,000 less, How much mark up is on these machines ?? What does a $9.999 cost to build ??
