Everyone is going to tell you to try the search function. It contains a wealth of knowledge that I am sure you will find beneficial for this question and many others you may have as well. Good luck!

For any given size of lawn:

product cost + labor + travel + overhead = break even cost

break even cost + markup = your price

You have to fill in the values because everyone is different.

I do not charge an amount per square foot simply because the price does not increase in a linear function. The price per square foot follows a curve, with the price per square foot decreasing as the square footage increases.

Sorry for the math rant.

first of all I wanted to see your location and am not sure where lawn and ladscape is? can you tell me about what state that is in? This will clue people in and let people answer to your area.
In my area you price you paid where astronomical. Try to work the prices down or shop around. Now if you are only buyig a couple bags that might be the best you get.
Now you can work back from there.
