View Full Version : Why I chose JCB for a skid steer

Imagine driving up to this and needing to take it down all by yourself.
A concrete truck damaged the overhead. So I need to remove the gate (thirteen hundred plus pounds). Take down the overhead (twelve plus feet high). And I work by myself.
With the JCB it's nothing but a thing.

Did you notice the door?
Here's the gate being tree'd.

The battery on the JCB is easily accessible. This can be important when your gin pole has an electric winch.

The above picture gives you a good shot of why I picked the JCB over all the local brands.
Can you imagine crawling out of the tractor under a load like a thirteen plus hundred pound gate or a loose six inch pipe overhead?
With the door it's not an issue.
I feel like I got what I wanted and what I needed too. Think of marrying the prettiest gal around and finding out she's the best cook too.

Like that gin pole?
Check out the thread below and see what else it can do (tractor tricks)

access is why we chose a dingo stand on rather than the asv rc 30.
they have about the came capacity, but crawling in and out of a cab when working alone ( as i do most of the time) sucks.
the jcb has figured this out as well.

Just wanted to bring this to the top to see how things were going with wroughtn_harv. Have not heard or seen him on here for awhile. Loved seeing his work and posts/
