looking at a on going lawn care buisness.it had 17,000.00 gross for 40 acounts last year.all small lots,about 1/2 to 3/4 acre each.sone with shrub trimming.has a 36" and 52" hyd scags, both about 5 years old and in very good condition.both are serviced at a local scag dealer.trailer is a 6x10 single axel with spare tire and racks.about 5 years old also.misc edgers (2) blowers (2) hand tools etc.what would be a fair purchase price?asking 11,300.00 for all.thanks for any ideas.

Dude, surely that is not correct? $17K GROSS? That's only $425 per acct per YEAR! That's only like $13 per acct a week based on a 32 week season there. He lost money if that is the case. He should have grossed that chump change on 10-12 accts.

I agree with MM. I wouldn't take over the business if those numbers are right. Buy the equipment, if you think it fits your needs (for less), let the accounts go.
