Any of you Ferris guys have any experience with the IS500 w/ the 34hp Daihatsu motor? We are looking to purchase a 72" deck mower, but it must be liquid cooled. Any help would be appreciated.

I've used the IS5000 Cat diesel, very nice!

Demoed the IS5000Z diesel and it made my old promaster feel like riding on a board. Had a fluffy ride, you still felt the bumps but it didn't jar you to death. When cutting at an aggressive pace I hit holes without slowing down and the machine soaked it up without scalping.

Rodfather - You have never heard of the IS500 36" rider w/ a 34hp Daihatsu liquid cooled motor? It's awesome!

Of course I meant the IS5000! Come on! Read the title!

That suspension is really sweet. I've used an IS-3000 and it had such a smooth ride. Why don't you get the Cat diesel?

I run a IS4000 72" with a 31hp lc dihatsu. I has plenty of power and does a great job. However, it doesn't like wet grass.

I really don't want the CAT for 2 reasons. A) Its a much heavier machine B) Diesel stations are few and far between and it becomes a PITA to have to make 2 stops or carry a bunch of extra cans around. Plus my dealer told me that the Dihatsu motors run very smooth and quiet, unlike the beefy CAT motor. :dizzy:
