I'm looking to buy a new 60" ztr and I was wondering what mower is the best bang for the bucks? I live in ohio and Grasshopper seems to be the best mower but for a 60" you will pay $10,000 for it and I don't have that, so any insight on cost and efficiency would be greatly appreciated. thanks ahead for any advice.

I don't own a JD, but i have been looking at the ZTR's closly lately, and like what I see. I think you should at least take a look at one. Also, I am very confident you could get a 60" John Deere ZTR for less that $10,000.

If you like Dixie Choppers, I make great deals to commercial cutters and I'm less than 2 hours south of you. Email me for prices. :D

Yep! I can buy the 25hp 60" JD 757 all day long for $7,100.
Still over a grand more than a Lesco equipped the same.
But the JD is still good bang for the buck....

Dixie's are good machines. You should definately take a good look at them. If there is a Ferris dealer close to you look at them as well. That 4 wheel independent suspension really makes a big difference in the ride and the cut.

Try to demo a Hustler Super Z if you have a dealer. You should probably get a 25 kaw or 24 Honda w/60 inch deck for around 8 bills.

I can honestly tell you that Ferris is my number one pick. Here in Kansas City you can get a 2005 60-61 with four wheel Independent Suspension for $7,299. They are great machines and tuff as tanks.
