Cost Calculation

just starting the business of lawn care. how do i come up with a price for a standard lawn size of 6500 sq ft. i don't want to shoot from the hip. want to make sure i cover my cost and make some $$. is there a formula?

A lot of factors to consider. The best way is to figure what your costs are going to be time wise (just mowing?, are you catching the clippings?, etc). Are you using a 21", ZTR, 36" W/B. Figure how long it will take to do time wise and then look at competitors etc. Need to take into account all your expenses (licenses, insurance, etc.) Its hard to say $40.00 because that might work for some, but not you.
