Any blowers in the works to compete with the 8000?

I can neither confirm nor deny, but how does a TBL-9600 sound? What are you not getting from the Redmax unit that you would like to see in a similiar CC blower?

I'm putting that question out to everyone!

Hmmm, well I'm not really in the market for anything at this time, but since you put the question out there........

About the only negative I've heard about the 8000 is the weight. So, I guess if someone came out with a blower that was comparable in power, but was a little lighter, that may sway some buyers.

I bought the EBZ8000. And immediately sold it. It blows as hard as the EB7001, but it blows more air. But the difference in weight is substantial. I sold the 8000 and bought a new 7001.

What is the big deal with the weight issue. I own 2 redmax 8000's and use then on each job. Springtime for clean-ups and days on end for fall clean-ups. They are well worth their weight in the force of the airstream. I do not have a problem with their weight. I am 6'2" and 200 lbs. ALSO, I am 56 years old.

Hi,
Nothing to report until the fall. Remember, we do have the TBL-7600/R for $469.99 which is a 59cc, 815 CFM lighweight and comfortable backpack.

Seems to be an interesting way to divert attention from what..."Can't be confirmed or denied" to what is available.

There is a point where super high performance means larger blower housings & larger engine displacement.
No getting around it no matter what color or name is on the blower.
Think of it like water comming out of a hose. Air is similar as it's classified as a fluid, but it's compressable.

So unless some company comes up with a way to compress air into a small back pack container, can do it with some new futuristic engine, do it quieter than a compressor....there's no way around power vs. size.

The size, and weight of the Red Max 8000, or anyone else claiming to be building 'super blowers' has reached about the limit most end users will accept, which marketwise has a much more limited sales volume, and ultimately....its about making $$$$$.
Low volume doesn't do that.

Mower Man, Who cares about making money? I just want to have the biggest, baddest boy out there that will do some blowing. Enjoy your big bad blower.

Sounds good...as long as its made 100% by Tanaka.

Will there be a TBL-9600?

Hi,
Yes, there will be a new Tanaka backpack in the future. However, I don't think it will be a 9600. What cc size should it be?

Personally, I'd like to see something between 70-75cc. Anyone else have any input? Maybe a ventilated back pad?

I've always thought a larger 70-80cc engine would be perfect. But another thing I've thought of lately is electric start. For some reason with me the customer always comes out to give me my check when I'm blowing. I have to shut it off, chit-chat with the customer for a few and then take the blower off and start it again.

Hi,
Thanks for the input. What do you guys think about electric start for all of your commercial handheld products?

I think that would be a great idea! I'd buy them.

Redmax had an electric start blower at one time. I've only seen 1 come through the shop.

I have the TBL7600 and the only complaint that I have is that it sounds like a motor cycle running in my ears. It is very loud that is for sure. I love the power and will keep using it just make it more quite and I will buy more tanaka blowers....

Have you ever tried to reach your arm back and pull the cord with it on your back? I can shut off my Redmax's and start them like that.

I think that electric start would be unneccesary... With blower manufacturers already competing for power versus weight; I don't seee how this would be practical.

1: I would definitely like to see a big bore blower with adjustable high and low speed needles.
2: Why don't we see blowers with exhaust systems that would increase power without having to shoulder the weight of more displacement. I don't think I've ever seen a blower, or any other two stroke tool, that had an expansion chamber on the muffler.
3: Last and most importantly, if a big, huge-bore engine is used on Tanaka's new entry, I'd like to see extremely high compression...and a KICK STARTER! That would be the cat's ars.

It's going to be really difficult to say electric start would be "great" and also complain about the weight of these units.:hammerhead:

Due to emmission standards, I don't think you can find many adjustable carbs out there anymore...

All of my hand held two strokes have adjustable carbs.

20 years experience....5 reasons why red max is the only blower currently used by pros (not in order)
1. weight
2. power
3. reliability
4. repair (design) I can rip 2 old ones apart and make a new one
in less than 10 minutes and send Jose on his way

They are as powerful as any really need to be. Yes, they do burn a bit of gas, but they run forever..almost litterally. Most blowers...echo, stihl don't even come close to the productivity of a red max used by a trained and seasoned pro. I would say however, your edgers are soo dam beloved that a lot of companies would give Tanaka a shot even if there were to mice inside blowing out the tube
