Nice rig Merlin. Looks like you have used every inch of availible space on your trailer. What size is it? Post a few pics that are closer up if you have them.

Hey Prevatte,

Do you pull that new enclosed trailer with that same Ranger?
If so, how well does it pull it. For now I have a 94 4wd Explorer with
the 4.0 and AOD, and I am thinking of going with a trailer like your
new one. Any advice?

Thanks. I like the Deere. It works well on the Southern Grasses and I have 3 JD dealers within 30 minutes of any place in the county for parts and support. That and I am a "Perferred Green Fleet" customer so I get some pretty good discounts on equipment.

When loaded the trailer has:

JD 757
Great Dane 36" Hydro
9hp Little Wonder blower
EZ Trench bed edger
Toro Proline 21"

Works out well in the summer and quick access to everything. I also have a 20' enclosed trailer I pull too.

I just saw a set up for a Walker that you might be interested in. Or at least the idea. They guy made a hoop to hold a 55 gallon trash bag (wide mouth). It is set up curb side of the trailer on the outside. He hooks the bag to the hoop. When the hopper is full he backs on the trailer and put the tail up against the inside wall of the trailer so the hopper is dumping outside the trailer and through the hoop into the trash bag. It is fast and simple. I wish I had a camera when I saw him so I could make one. Simple idea and he never touches the grass the second time. He just ties the bag off and leaves it.

Thanks for the idea, That would be pretty good. Expessially for the spring cleanup, Right now Im just dumping it onto yhe trailer, then go to my buddies house where I shovell it off into a pull behind cart for a lawn tractor and dump it down the side of a hill. he is hoping to build it up so that he can build a deck or something on it. Man does that grass ever stink after 2-3 days on the trailer. just steaming. never seen grass decompose so quickly. Ill keep that idea in mind.

Triple L, I just noticed the pic of your beefy looking trailer - matches the mower too, but if you can get your Walker in there without having to raise the deck on it you'll be better off. At one time I had to do that, but found out that raising and lowering the deck old fast, not to mention the wear and tear on the mower.

Mlc, are you able to turn with that trailer hooked on, it looks really close to the dump bed, might be the angle of picture.

Mlc gmc03
04-17-2005, 11:14 PM
it gives me a lil bit of trouble i just got that hitch put on the truck and i think thge easiest way around it is just to have the basket moved on the trailer but for now i can use it i just have to be careful

Critical Care
04-17-2005, 11:58 PM
Mlc, you should get an extension for the hitch. I'm using a Titan V hitch and can slip in a 24 - 38" extension, though I don't need it with my landscape trailer.

Nice looking outfit. Keep it clean!

Mlc gmc03
04-18-2005, 11:11 PM
the hitch extension is a little bit more than i need right now that trailer is atached to the pintle with a 2 5/16in ball so if i used the reese which the truck also has i would be ok but i just like the idea of using the pintle because then there is nothing to forget to take out before dumping the load and deystroying the dump bed i will take a picture of that hitch and the one on my 3500 they are very impresive the same guy did both for me

Here is my set-up last year. I will try to post a current one from the side to see the layout. Currently accomodates a 60 inch lazer, 52 hp, and push mower. When not bagging the bagging equipment goes in the box (I can keep one bagger on and it all still fits, usually only bag with one during clean-ups, the other mulches). Homemade for my personal reasons. SUV doesn't handle all my needs so the dump box is a life saver. Hoping to get electric over hydraulic on it this winter.

I am looking for a 6 or 7 by 10 or 12 footer locally. double axle would be even better. Short and wide for a lazer(soon to come, or another midsize z) and a 48 wb. The twin axle for some heavy equipment. The two 5x8 footers that I have now are not going to cut it next spring.
