Hey guys what going on, I ran into a problem today with my company name. The name I have been using for the last 4-5 years is Total Lawn Care, I never ran into any problems with duplicate names and did research to find out if there were duplicates. Well today I got a call about my fertilizing license that I applied for and there already is a Total Lawn Care inc. in Oklahoma. So, Im going to modify my name a little bit to stay out of hazards way. Give me some feedback on which name you think is best or if you have any of your own ideas.

I like the total lawn and landscape the best. total lawn of norman limits you to that area and total lawn of oklahoma is pretty broad you may be getting calls from several hundred miles away. :waving:

Hey Bterry, how did you go about getting your fertilization license in Oklahoma? What all did it include. I am wanting to do weed control and fertilization year-around along with mowing service, etc. I'm in OKC. Thank you for any help you can provide.

If you don't mind me asking, what all do you do? Do you do actual landscape installation work, too? Or just mainly maintenance? There is no doubt that the Lawn & Landscape has a ring to it, but you may want to put a management on the end to distinguish what you do. Just a thought.

I agree companys or people who do landscape maintenance or management or service, but arent Landscapers or aren't expierienced in landscaping should let that be known on the business card and in the name.

I don't see a problem without having management or what ever after Landscape. There are plenty of Landscape companies out there that have no experience landscaping. He doesn't have to take a landscape job if he doesn't want to.

With my name of SGLC Property Services (and management technically) I didn't want my name to tie me down to only lawn care as we also manage a laundromat and rental properties.

Hi BTerry
I have heard of this problem coming up before and one of the ways I have seen guys change is to add a name in front of your original name. Ex:Bterry's Total Lawn Care, this still let's you be identified with all of accounts and vendors.
Good Luck
Jay
