Good luck.
Where did you get the $490 number anyway?

Great blower..awesome power but...

Look out for the weight and it uses a ton of gas!

My 7001 handles most everything I need to do and is much lighter and uses less gas.

The 8000 is Strato-Charged so the gas mileage is great for the power. The 7001 is not a strato-charged engine. I think gallons / hour will be about the same. The weight will be an issue, I usually advise guys not to have an 8000 as their only blower. It's heavier than the 7001 and if you're doing 12-18 homes the constant on and off can wear you out. But if you're blowing off a shopping center, church, apt complex, or other large commercial location or leaves.... the 8000 can't be beat!

For those who operate Redmax 8000, what brand and ratio of oil mix you use? 50-1? Could you use Stihl 2 cycle mix that you use on trimmer and edgers on Redmax 8000?
Thanks

I use both the 7001 and the 8000 and the 8000 uses a TON more gas than the 7001. Much heavier too!

You are the only one that says that. Everyone else with both says the 8000 is more fuel effecient.
My 7000 and 7001 will go during leaf season for about 55 minutes on a full tank. The 8000 will go almost 1.5 hours without refueling.

I could be wrong, but I thought our 8000's used more fuel too than our 7000's and 7001's.

That would be correct...you are wrong. :)

I noticed it from the first days work the 8000 used less fuel. Much less.

Enjoy the snow Rod...Its going to be 72 here tomorrow. :waving:
