View Full Version : Ocean H2O

Last fall I slitseeded a lawn right on the ocean. The lawn came in great except for the 40' x 20' along the break wall. Any suggestions on why this didn't kick? Does it have to do with the salt water winds (it sometimes blows hard over the lawn) I don't think, however, that the seed blew away, it just didn't grow. Thanks for input

Probably the salt water. What type of seed was it? Many varieties of seed have little to no salt tolerance.

i don't know if this helps, but in the old days when an army conqured a city they would spread salt on the fields so food would not grow and the people would have to move away.

the majority of the seed spread was Kentucky Blue if I can recall. Any seed products that have a seed tolerance?
