Been mowing and cleaning up since the first of Feb. I took a chance and placed an ad in the Verizon Superpages this year. Wow, what a difference in customers. If Feb is any indication of how this year is going to go, I am gonna be slammmmmmmed. March has turned out to be extemely busy as well, right now it is raining and I am pondering whether I should go out or just bump them til tomorrow, and just catch up on Sat. I've been too busy to even pass out any fliers yet........................

Started last Saturday (3/05/05). Mowed first two yards of the season.

Two spring cleanups and three lawns mowed so far...nothing but sunshine and 70s in the forecast :D  Things should be taking off by next week.

I noticed the burmuda is starting to green up here but I haven't had to cut anything yet. All my spring cleanups are done just waiting on the grass.

I started a job on Monday, but can't finish yet since all the debris is covered in snow. Only got an inch or 2, hopefully tomorrow the sun will melt it enough so I can finish.

Not supposed to get any big snows here, but they do mention it for Fri night as well as Sat night.

I'm planning on bundling up, going out shortly to trim some low branches for a customer, really getting tired of sitting around...

It's been pretty crazy for me since mid-Feb. I do the majority of my business in deed-restricted communities. One of the things about these communities is that around the same time each year, about now, the HOA sends out letters to homeowners that have let their yards go over winter stating they need to get them in shape or pay the price of some fines. Bad for them, good for me. Just last week I had two people flag me down as I was driving down the street pleeding with me to cut their lawn. Got both of them now on monthly contracts. Good for business but a little earlier than what I expected. Cutting into my fishing time :realmad:

I also started cutting around mid Feb. Almost going full time this month. I love Florida.

03-09-2005, 03:43 PM
February 22 nd is the first cut of this year. 1st week of March is already full cause lots of lawns having weeds popping there and here, it is gonna be at least 2-3 weeks to do weeding before full mowing swing.

Probably be May 1 for me.........still have Ice Storm cleanups from January to do still

03-09-2005, 06:52 PM
Been cutting every other week since last fall. The growth rates are starting to pick-up and I should be back to every week by the end of this month. I've done a lot of mulch installs and bed clean-ups during the slow season to keep the revenue flowing. You gotta love Florida! We stay busy most of the year.

Started last week wednesday or so (3-2-05) Was really warm last week, almost hot to be cuttin pampas grass and wearing long sleeves. I haven't been going real fast, just kinda plugging along. Been trying to get all the pre-em + fert down, hopefully going to have that 90% done tomorrow! Honestly this is about a week or 2 earlier than I usually start but I see everyone else out and I feel like a bum if I just stay home. Also I always put off my 1st app of fert. too late because I used to try to always cut every lawn first before I applied it. Everyone else just puts it down now or even 2 weeks ago and comes back to cut in a week or so. Hope everyone takes notice to the fact that it has to be WATERED IN!

Kinda chilly here today tho, but better for tomorrow!

I've got about 8 or 10" still on the ground here...my saw was really going strong just after the ice storms. I've stopped doing the clean-ups for now until the snow and ground can melt. Too many branches and trees still covered in snow, so I told my customers that it won't be until some time in April til I can finish. Then I might be able to get started on my own 2 acre mess sometime in July or August!
