Are you recommending the EB240S over the BG85

I have one, works fine for just grass clippings off of drives and walks. Easy to just grab and go. Pretty much useless for anything other than that.

RedMax!!

Anything by RedMax is better than Stihl..longer life, easier starting etc..etc..

I have the 85 and it is great. Only had one prob with it in 8 years. Be sure to get the 85, the 65 realy sucks.

And of course you've owned stihl equipment for years, correct?

I have a BG85, replaced a BG75(?), the earlier model. I use it mostly for blow down of walks, drives, etc after mowing. It is also used for bed cleanup of leaves in the Fall. The 85 is more powerful and effective than the previous model. I work solo, and am mowing 1,100-1,200 per season.

I used the 75 for four (five?) seasons. The engine runs well, but a cast tab on one half of the engine broke, the tab (one of three) that engages bolts that hold the two halves of the engine together. It still runs, but leaks because the seal isn't made tight with only two bolts.

The 75 replaced a Shin -- more effective than the Shin, and the 85 is more effective than the 75.
