I had a client ask me if I could apply organic or natural fertilizer and pest control product. Does anyone have any idea where I might be able to locate any such product or if they are available. We operate in the state of Florida, so these products would be needed for warm climate applications. Thanks for the help.

There are a number of products out there but the efficacy is not necessarily what you might want. The one that shows some promise is corn gluten meal. It is expensive and it is bulky to put on (20#s/K). It also takes about 3 years to build up enough of the product in the soil to work well. Look at the Iowa State University Hort department website for it. It is also marketed by Gardens Alive, it hink they have a website too. They have a bunch of goofy organic products. Like I said, warn your customers that it will not work as well as the established chemical methods. As far as insects, you are on your own....

Try http://www.nopi-inc.com. It stands for Natural Organic Products International. They are in Mt. Dora Florida and manufacture organic fertilizer products. We've used their 5-4-5 and 14-2-5 on a couple of accounts who requested organics. We have also used the H-15 humic acid as an additive to our regular liquid program on turf areas that were under excess stress.

I have found that cornglutten meal works good, as far as expensive $5 to $8 for 50#, or bulk for $120/ton, and pesticides there are several products that work, corn meal for grubs, orange oil works good on some pest but you have to be careful not to burn plants, garlic tea works well on many like white flies and mosquitoes, pepper tea, diatamatous earth for fleas tick many more. check out the web site I posted above for this info
