Seeding a yard

I do mostly sod installs, and last year a guy wanted a quote for sod and one for seed. So I gave him a quote for seed. Now I know what I would do if I was doing my own yard, but is there anything that you would do to help out a customers yard?

On mine I would grade it
Fertilize it
Seed it
Lightly rake
Seed again in the spots that didn't come up.

I feel silly charging this guy to lay seed....I am guessing this is going to take 2 hours to do. Its about a 6000 sq. ft. yard. All of the yard prep is already done.

This is a brand new lawn on a very gently sloping yard.

If all the prep was already done, why would you grade it?
Fertilize with good starter fert, Apply lime if needed, rake into soil then broadcast seed and cover with straw.

I have heard that covering with straw causes weeds. We are not going to grade it.

Cover it with the new netless blankets from Profile. Kind of a way to hydromulch without the machine. Also mix in a good bit of annual rye in the spring to make sure you get something green up. In the fall overseed with a good mix free of annual rye or creeping red fescue. You'll have a happy customer.
