Level for grading

I'm considering purchasing a laser level for grading the area we are working on.

ie) the slope of the pavers, the grade of the pavers, the waterponds.. I'll be doing the small hardscaping projects, nothing major like 10,000+ sq feet or anything..

What laser level do you guys recommend? Something basic and simple and efficient..

I just purchased a transit a couple of months ago, cost about 6 or 7 hundred. I went with a fairly basic type. Find a place where they deal only in leveling, surveying tools etc. they will help you get set up with the right tool.

I just saw a laser level in Menards the other day. It is a Porter Cable. Goes for about $400. Tripod and stick is separate. I think it was +/- 1/8" out to 100'. If you do not do alot of hardscape installs this would work out good.

Just an option.
