When I press the button for the dump insert to go up nothing happens. I bought a new switch and inspected alll of the wiring. I just cant get to the motor or the wiring underneath the dump because it wont go up!!! So does this mean I have to take it out? How will I be able to get it out if the dump wont go up to get to the bolts that hold it in the bed? Thanx for your help :dizzy:

Ground problem, attach a jumper cable to the metal dump body directly, then to your negative batt terminal. Then try.

If that doesnt work, disconnect the piston and pull under a tree and use a chainfall to raise the body . Chock it safely and check your wiring

It is an Ez dumper. It is an early model, I would say early 90's. I does not have the in cab control.

sounds like a ground or a corroded battery terminal. I agree with jumping the ground and going right to the motor of the unit. The problem is raising the unit in the air. Where are you located in Montgomery county?

Yeah I am in Willow Grove 19090, I think the corrosion sounds right on the ground wire, because I had alot of rock salt in the truck during the winter. I wont be able to get to the motor of the unit because the dump wont go up. I am going out right now to try. I will let you know. I really appreciate the input guys! :D

Well I tried running the jumper cable from where I grounded on the chassis to the ground on the battery and no go... I cant disconnect the raise piston on the dumper unless the dump is up. I really think the problem is the wire connections on the motor, but again I can't get to the motor. I guess I have to take the whole thing out.

Do you have a come-along and some chains. You should be able to find a strong tree and hoist the dump body right on up.

That wont break the piston

No, the piston is mounted to the frame it operates just like a shock on a vehicle.

ITS WORKING!!!!!! :cool2:

Well today I bought a EZ Dumper Trailer. When I got home I hooked the sides of the dump trailer and the dump insert together, while the dump trailer was hooked to my other truck I lifted the dump trailer and it pulled the dump insert up and I proped the insert and jumped in and this is what I found.....

Yeah I know I need to start cleaning out the excess materials that fall around the motor, I will start doing it every week. The power wire was completely disintegrated where it met the motor.... I was a site to see!!! :alien: The picture is blurry but here are the wires

Thanks, The trailer is rated at 10000lbs. so it can hold around 6500lb. It cost me 6000$ out the door. It came with the transport package with slide out ramps and hoops so I can transport a bobcat also.
