I just wanted to introduce myself since we are in North Texas, I'm trying to make connections with peers around me.. I'm still growing my business and am always looking to make connections. Happy New Year!

My company is Turf Dawg Landscaping, well it is actually registered as Turf Dawg Landscaping and Water Gardens although about all the water features I do any more are the disappearing fountains. Hell, about all I have time for any more is mowing. That is why I am thinking of giving up my residential maintenance next season and just doing commercial maintenance so I will have time for some chem apps and irrigation repair. I am already booked on landscaping and a irrigation install from Nov through mid Jan or longer if nobody backs out. It sucks having to turn down so much work and I probably have several people angry at me for not being able to do there last two rounds of apps.

You do need a license for anything other than fert [including roundup], but there is no way I would pay for the license and insurance if all you are doing is spraying cracks.

I will be glad when this heat breaks.

      Have a great day, Bill

I just wanted to give you a heads up about working in Kiowa. There are a few people out there that will turn you in if you are not legit. To spray anything you need the pesticide license. To do anything to the irrigation systems you need a irrigators license. And for the landscape side [like just mowing] you need to have a number from the state comptrollers office where you collect tax and be registered with the county appraisal district. Since you are in Grayson county, you will have to register with the Cooke county appraisal district for a outside contractors fee. If you stay small and just mow chances are you will be OK but if you start doing the other stuff or growing watch out.
