Just noticed your message from May about the Toro 300 series mower.
The mower was made for golf courses, and cuts as well as any 72" mower out there. It's a full floating deck, meaning it rides on it's own castors, not dependent on the mower wheels for height of cut. It gives a more even cut.
The deck I have is the side discharge. Toro offers 3 decks for this mower. Side discharge is the most common and is a good all around deck. It is a wind tunnel design. It cuts the grass off and discharges the whole piece. So if the lawn is overgrown and you're cutting off 7" of grass, that's how long the clippings are. The rear discharge deck can handle less volume of grass and mulches the clippings finer. The flex deck does the same. I've never run either of the two.
The 300 series has been in production since 1972 and is probably the best all around mower. The 3000 serise was to replace it, but the 300 series keeps on selling.
      Did you say 22 acres? That's a lot for a 72". I'd want an old Toro 455d. with a 10.5' flex deck.
