      Sorry I didn't see this--yes it's normal; in fact rubber blades have only been around about 15 years in the 80's all were made like you are talking about.

      Ive located a 250 gallon tank with hand agitation and the individual says he will sell it for $125.00 and not a penny less. It was manufactured several years ago by a seal coat tank manufacturer located in iowa and was custom built to hold 250 gallons. The paddles inside the tank do not have rubber blades/edges on them and the edges of the paddles have aproximately a 1/8 inch gap between the inner walls of the tank. Is it normal for tanks agitation paddles to not have rubber blades/edges on them? And if not how close should the metal edges of the paddles set in realtion to the inner walls of the tank? Any info or advice you could provide will be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, J. White.
