Quote: but for anyone to say something is free when ANYTHING at all (EXCEPT the product itself) gets involved then it is NOT free and should not and CAN not be labeled thusly. It's not only false advertising but bad business, and it may even be against the law but I don't know for sure.

Jim @ TURF here. Just to re-state what I said about this:

1. We don't "give" subscriber names to anyone (advertisers or anyone else)
2. Our list does occasionally get rented and I personally have to give the okay on each company requesting it. And believe me, very few get the list.
3. If you want us to keep your name away from any offers (in other words, NOT allow your name to be included in these few rentals) please let us know. We can flag your name and thus will never be a source of offers in your mail box.

Lastly -- we do not engage in false advertising ... we are a very reputable organization ... renting names is certainly not against the law (and I take real offense at the suggestion that we would engage in illegal activity).

So are #1, #2, and #3 clear enough? Or should I re-state them again?
