Actually you're break even at very best, so you're NOT out only the $300 and the $2200 to the good at all, because the extended warranty I assure you cost you $1500-$2000 (and it will end up costing even more if you financed it in with the truck cause if you look close you are geting tagged with interest on that warranty amount too), so you have still paid that $2500...

Now IF you happen to have another major repair then you will not have spent but the $300 and come out good, but presently you have still spent same $2500
