I just recently got rid of my landpride 48" overseeder. I had it for 8 years and used it to overseed my horse pastures in the spring and fall. It was reliable. Is it effective? I would need more information on what particular application you are going to do with this rig. One thing I did early on was learn that it is not a good idea to leave your extra un-used seed in the hopper and tubes over the winter and expect to go right out and seed in the spring. It clogged the tubes and I had to blow everything out with high pressure air and start anew. The spiders and small critters loved to nest in the tubes, as I did not use the machine all the time, so cleaning the tubes before use made it function just fine.....
