I would never dream of using the irrigation clocks to control lighting. Now if your doing a full smart home automation system with irrigation... landscape lighting... interior and exterior line voltage lighting and other accesories then thats different. Its usually computer controlled from inside

Yes you can control from inside the home with optional remote controls available for some irri clocks. You know the hand held kind that they use for service and such.
