Got an email from a homeowner in Arizona today via my website wanting to know what the fix for this is.
He said the Rain Bird tech at their 800 number told him there was a simple fix, (the jumper I guess) but wouldn't tell him how to do it (probably because he also needs the parts).
He also said that the distributors in his area don't seem to be aware of the problem.
Not sure if he's a DIY, doesn't have a good relationship with his previous contractor, or the controller might have been installed before he moved in, but I went ahead and forwarded him the RB Technical Bulletin email.
I'm thinking he got my name from a thread in lawnsite.
Anyway, here are the instructions in that email, in case anyone needs them...
