I had a dilema sort of similar.

Got a referal from a guy who was real cheapskate. Always trying to add extra work and talk me down on prices. I told him his next mow was free because his referal hired me. Well, after 1 stinkin mow, his refered customer cancelled because she is even cheaper that the cheapskate that refered her.

I thought "I'm gonna raise his price or start skimpin on trimming or something cause I feel burned"

My girlfriend said " You made the deal, you stick to it, and you do the best job possible. Stop acting the fool. Your name goes on the work no matter how you feel about doing it."

I did the free mow better than I ever have before, all the "extra" spots mowed and took some extra time to inspect every inch.

Wouldn't you know, he insisted on paying me for it and refered me to 2 more people.

Just wanted to share.
