oh yea, it's college, not collage...you also mentioned that most plands have a 12-15 year life before getting "twiggy"... that is only because most people in the landscape industry only prune with shears... VERY few can correctly hand prune....

if more people would learn proper horticultural techniques, they could sustain landscape plantings indefinitely for most species....

there is a technique called rejuvenative pruning.....

i also think that 2" from the AC is WAY too close for those arbs.....

i see LA's all the time draw designs that are ticking time bombs....

I also wrote and planted the arbs 2' away from the AC not 2"

The rejuvenative pruning is something that interest me and im going to talk to some state assoc. about it.

I also have to agree with the La's comment. Sitting at a desk is WAY different to how it comes together in the field. I find this even more true with hardscaping they just dont understand
