Just an idea (I might implement actually)... use a G-Mail account. New lead = new contact in the g-mail account.
You can file the contact in different groups so...
Start it out in the lead group.
Then move it to the completed bid group
Then move it to the customer group or old bids group depending on how the bidding/follow-up go.
Simple... and available on any computer that has the net.
The groups show how many contacts you have in each, so your goal would be to keep the lead and completed bid groups to a minimum while maximizing your customer group. Be creative.
