The only reason i knew you could eat gar was because i have been doing alot of research about fishing in the Austin area and came across videos and articles about gar. Here in CT we dont have gar but i have caught long nose gar in Lake Champlain. I will post a pic of that soon.
I've had Carp a couple of times and it wasn't very good. Now around St Louis and Central IL were I lived for a couple of years Buffalo was real popular at the restaurants and a lot of people think it is Carp and try and eat the Carp they catch, then they find out they are not the same and Buffalo tastes a heck of a lot better than Carp.
