BBQ kickoff season about to begin

Memorial Day and BBQ. Better than Christmas for me. In ancient times while a young pup I was working a job on Memorial Day and the missing plane formation flew over head. Haven't worked Memorial Day since. War sucks. losing our best and brightest sucks even more.

Can't find a decent rub up here so I'm making my own this year. Used to buy the SALT LICK version from Driftwood, TX

Found this recipe I'm putting together today.

Tejas Style Brisket Rub

1/2 cup paprika
1/4 cup black pepper, coarsly ground
3 tablespoons Homemade Chili Powder
2 tablespoons canning salt
2 tablespoons onion powder
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon ground red pepper (or more, to taste)

Buying brisket up here is dicey as well. The butcher thought I'd be scared off when he quoted me 2.99/lb for him was garbage meat. 32.00 bucks. i'm going to have to shop around see if I can't find a better source.

Pull out that grill and get your stuff ready. We'll post pics
