We are not talking about a 300 year old oak. Nature plants by haphazard criteria, and most of them die b4 the age of 10, because of overcrowding.

Should we fertilize a 300 year old oak?
Now that I know that clay's texture(platelets) has nothing to do with water infiltration, percolation, or drainage
