Those are all great ideas. You don't have to invest a huge sum of money in web design, but you do need to have a minimum level of quality and functionality.
Most businesses make their mistakes in using the wrong text/language or failing to provide multiple calls to action, inadequate promotions or other incentives, or poorly designed landing pages.

Many companies have good off-site marketing but fail when they attempt to do business on the internet, which is unfortunate because it is not that difficult if you follow a few basic guidelines in your design and approach.
