Not to sound like a dick or anything but right now your best bet is to take you block and spoil, put in the backyard for right now and do some more research.

I'm not a hardscaper, by trade but I'm a big enough fan of it LOL. But coming from a design point don't go all the way to the corner. Either put in a right angle corner and one obtuse angle or make a sweeping curve with it. Fill the tringle between the sidewalk and the bed with either a spardust or a river rock.
