The blue and orange wires could be tracer wires. Some jobs are spec'd with tracer wires.
As was previously stated, identify the valve wire at that splice.
You can then test for voltage from the controller and continuity to the valve.
I've had a few recent jobs where the fault was inside the dry splice.
That is some good info. I do not recall seeing blues or oranges in any valve boxes.
I do know of one station that has two valves. I will double check those for Orange or Blues.
I figured these were spares.
Oddly the station I am looking for was added after completion by the GC/Contractor to split up an oversized station and to reduce flow.
