The Storm Prediction Center has issued a
Severe Thunderstorm Watch for:
central and eastern Kansas
eastern Nebraska
extreme west central Iowa
This is in effect until 10:00pm CDT.
Severe Thunderstorms are developing over central Kansas rapidly. These storms are moving to the northeast at 25 mph. Expect hail up to 2.5 inches, damaging winds and an isolated tornado along with dangerous lightning along with flooding rainfall can be expected in the heaviest storms this afternoon and evening. By later tonight, this area should become more linear in nature and produce one or two swaths of significant damaging winds. The tornado threat will diminish after 7:00pm CDT.
