I think the biggest problem with the 4mix engines is ignorance...
Mechanics have always been able to turn a screw...change a sparkplug or a fuel filter..to fix a 2 stroke trimmer....They have become complacent and are intimidated by the new technology...I've seen more than 1 guy ...that calls himself a tech...look with fear when laying it on the counter for repair...
The best advice I can give a mechanic is to get a broken 4mix engine..and do a complete teardown...every nut ..bolt..and bearing...once you get familiar with all the pieces..it should remove some of the mystery with them...
