I dont have a compression checker. I need to invest into one soon. Its been running fine. We use it a few days a week. It is my dads favorite mower. When I pulled the plugs and cranked it over it turned over very fast. With the plugs in it turns over much slower (like a normal engine).

When I went to start it this morning it made a slight pop out of the muffler then nothing after that. If it sheared the flywheel key wouldn't it not have any spark? Thats not the first time it has done that small pop upon trying to start it. It tends to do that if it has been flooded a little with fuel.
