We do install our grills and fire features last. This way we maintain straight, uninterupted joint lines with the pavers.
I need to explain further -

So anything that goes in the paver field will go in last. Like I said - to maintain straight joint lines.

But we don't install over the pavers. We'll actually take the pavers up (where the feature is going), install the feature on the gravel base, and then cut the pavers to fit around the feature.
