Sometimes it's not the age but the mileage, other times it's the mileage not the age. 300 hours is short, but I can not pass judgement not knowing the history. To find the root of your issue we must eliminate possible causes one at a time. Once we are sure the issue is the engine then we break that down to find the cause.
